Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and bizarre video. Cash-strapped and facing eviction, Katie eagerly accepts the job. The video shows people being tortured and even killed on camera, and is clearly a carefully staged fiction. But when that first job leads to even more lucrative gigs and more disturbingly realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange figures haunt her apartment, terrible nightmares keep her awake, and a mysterious illness afflicts her cat. Only when Katie decides to quit her job for good does she discover just how cruel her anonymous employer is—and the lengths she’s willing to go to get out of her contract.
