Growing up in the Amazon rainforest has given Autumn the rarest of friendships—she finds a lost jaguar cub named Hope. When a tragic event forces Autumn to leave Hope for the unknown of New York City, she dreams of returning to the rainforest and her boyfriend for years to come. Autumn, 14 and accustomed to city life, discovers that her childhood village is under threat from animal traffickers and decides that she must return to the Amazon to her beloved jaguar. Anja (Emily Bett Rickards), Autumn’s endearingly clumsy biology teacher, tries unsuccessfully to dissuade her from her reckless plan. Autumn and Anja embark on a journey to reconnect with Hope and save her from those who would destroy the rainforest and its wildlife.
